Tempera Batik is a style of painting that was developed to resemble true batik, without the use of fabric, wax or dyes. It is achieved by the following steps:
The artist examines the painting and areas of interest are finely repainted for depth, clarity, and detail, as per the artist’s desire. (The artist can work back into the painting as much or as little as required or desired to achieve the final result).
“This is a process oriented style of painting that can bring truly wonderful, interesting, and more importantly, unexpected results! I enjoy the contrast between the realism and the abstraction found in each piece. I also love the vibrancy of color achieved by using tempera paint in conjunction with India ink.”
